kids2camp sponsorship programKids2Camp Program Overview
The Kids2Camp program was originally established in 2007 so that underprivileged kids can experience an otherwise unavailable week of northern Ontario camping.  Through the Kids2Camp initiative - camp fees as well as all of the necessary supplies for a fun filled and exciting week at camp are provided for by a donor.   As many families would not even own a car, transportation to and from the camp is also provided.  This program has been established in conjunction with JOY Camp located in Bancroft, Ontario.   Kids are connected with the childrens aid foundationKids2Camp program through some community based church groups (Philpott in Hamilton, Forestview in Oakville, Brant Community in Brantford) - utilizing their community connections in the region with organizations such as True City, Settlement & Integration services Organization (SISO), Micah House - Hamilton, Matthew House - Toronto, Children’s Aid Society (CAS), Children’s Aid Foundation (CAF)and Van Norman Community Homes.

Camp and Programs
JOY Camp is a magnificent facility located in beautiful Bancroft Ontario.  It is situated on Faraday Lake (originally known as Trout Lake) on approximately 700 acres with water front property.  JOY camp is a non denominational Christian affiliated camp and has daily programming that teaches kids of all ages Christian truths and values.  Cabin leaders are carefully selected as they will be parenting figures and mentors for the week.  Each cabin of 8-10 children typically will have three cabin leaders - one senior, one junior and a leader in training (LIT) who will partake in a leadership training program during the week.

Each day includes both structured programming and supervised free times that are scheduled around the many available activities, facilities and programs at the camp:

  • Boating –  paddle boats, row boats, canoes and kayaks
  • Swimming
  • Fishing
  • Mountain biking
  • Various indoor and outdoor sporting activities including basketball, soccer, volleyball baseball, floor hockey, etc

sponsorship breakdown

What does each child receive?
Each child sponsored by the Kids2Camp program receives the items on the list to the right.

What can you do to help make Kids2Camp successful in 2010?
Our bold goal for Kids2Camp in 2010 is to see 20 kids benefit from this program and get an amazing week away at camp.  The camp motto is “lives changed forever” and a week at camp might not seem like much but it really does have the impact to change a child’s life direction for the rest of their lives.  Consider partnering with us to sponsor a child or passing this message on to someone who can.  Thank you for your interest in Kids2Camp.
